Simpler, Humbler, Bolder: Life Events in the Mixed Ecology

Simpler, Humbler, Bolder – Life Events in the Mixed Ecology

POSTPONED due to venue availability.

One day conference on Thursday 3rd February 2022, The Ramada, Solihull

It's the loving and serving of the communities that we're in that's at the very heart of the vocation of the Church of England

Archbishop Justin Welby

Rooted and grounded in real lives and real faith, this one day conference will consider how doing things together has a real impact. When we meet families, we come together with them for a purpose – to be married, to have a child baptised, to say farewell, to remember someone.  So we do something together – and research tells us this makes them feel connected to church in ways we don’t always recognise.

Together we’ll think about

  • how Life Events are a key part of parish life as we work out the new Vision and Strategy for the next decade.
  • how being with people through christenings, weddings, funerals and remembering can transform individual faith journeys and build communities.

Speakers will help us reflect on being humbler in our approach, simpler in our message, and bolder to share the good news with those we meet in the ups and downs of their lives. And there will be lots of time to listen to each other as well.

With input from:

  • Revd Professor Jeremy Duff, Principal of St Padarn's Institute, The Church in Wales
  • Revd Canon Sandra Millar, Head of Life Events
  • Revd Heather Cracknell, Head of Development: Fresh Expressions
  • Emma Buchan, Thy Kingdom Come Project Director

….plus plenty of time for discussion and to share stories. Come, be refreshed and enjoy sharing in-person over-coffee conversations again.

Cost £55 (includes lunch and refreshments)

Early bird £45 until 30th November, 2021
